Meet Lily – A Loyal, Clever Girl Looking for Her Forever Home

Lily is a beautiful 5 year old German Shepherd x Doberman with so much love to give. She’s currently in foster in Swindon and has been making fantastic progress while she waits for her perfect match.

Lily came into foster after spending much of her early life at home, which means she’s still catching up on some social experiences, but the transformation in just two months has been incredible. She’s an intelligent, eager to please girl who is responding brilliantly to training and clearly enjoys learning.

Out and About
Lily is working hard on her lead skills using a head collar and slip lead, and she improves every day. She can be enthusiastic at the start of walks (she loves getting out and about!) but settles nicely once she’s had a chance to burn off that initial excitement.

She absolutely loves playing fetch on a long line and has excellent recall — she recently enjoyed time in a secure dog field where she walked beautifully off lead, stayed close, and responded immediately when called. She thrives when engaged with her person and particularly enjoys enrichment games like “find it.”

Lily can feel unsure around unfamiliar dogs and people on walks, but she has already made wonderful progress with positive training and toy-based engagement. With continued guidance and consistency, she will only keep improving.

At Home
In the home, Lily is affectionate, loyal, and deeply bonded to her people. Once she knows you, she is calm, loving, and always ready for a sofa snuggle. She settles beautifully overnight in the kitchen and is fully house trained.

She can be a little unsure when meeting new visitors, but once she’s had a chance to say hello at her own pace, she relaxes quickly. She has no food or toy guarding issues and is bright, responsive, and quick to learn.

Lily can comfortably be left for 3-4 hours and settles well during that time.

The Home Lily Needs
Lily is looking for an adult-only home where she can continue to build her confidence with patient, understanding owners who will provide structure, ongoing training, and plenty of love. She would thrive with someone experienced who enjoys working with intelligent breeds and wants a loyal companion by their side.

In return, Lily offers unwavering loyalty, affection, and a truly special bond with her person. She is a clever, devoted girl who just needs the right environment to shine.
