Rolo is 9-10 months old and is a Springer Spaniel x Patterdale. We were asked to take Rolo in because of health issues and owners moving home.

This is not a damning post as such but this couple couldn’t have chosen a worse mix of breeds and were completely out of their depth, and overwhelmed by the behaviour of this dog, which worsened with each month. In desperation crates and muzzles were used, which did nothing to train or help the boy. A conversation was had with the vet re pts.

If you are considering a pup please please look into the needs of the breed and be sure you have the right breed to suit your lifestyle, health and age.

Rolo is now a young high energy out of control bewildered pup. We have a family who have made a valiant effort this week but the disruption to work and family life has been such that we have had to put him into kennels.

We need him out asap, but we need him in absolutely the right home now, with people who understand working breeds, understand they need ‘something to do’, but also recognise that at the moment this boy is highly stressed.

Currently in kennels just outside Swindon, home with no children and no small furries please.
